How We Began
In February 2019 former Senate Majority Leader Ken Sikkema (R), former Democratic Senate Leader and Budget Director Bob Emerson (D), former Lt. Governor John Cherry (D), and former House Speaker Paul Hillegonds (R) initiated the Michigan Consensus Policy Project (MCPP), a bipartisan initiative of former legislators and key executive department officials working together to find solutions for some of our state’s toughest policy issues.
