Mission Statement

In an era of intense and often extreme political polarization, The Michigan Consensus Policy Project utilizes bipartisan leadership to champion and promote consensus proposals to address public policy challenges in Michigan.

How We Began

Governor John Cherry (D), and former House Speaker Paul Hillegonds (R) initiated the Michigan Consensus Policy Project (MCPP), a bipartisan initiative of former legislators and key executive department officials working together to find solutions for some of our state’s toughest policy issues.
